Leeds purchased these 700 acres of rolling woods, lakes, and gardens in 1872 and subsequently commissioned the estate as a public park. Roundhay Park is a scenic haven for wildlife and humans alike. The park amphitheatre hosts periodic special events, while other facilities offer tennis, bowling, golfing, and fishing. There's also a café and children's playground.
